Great post. I agree that as a freelancer when you're working "on the clock" the pressure is really on to stay 100% focused. It's unrealistic to assume that someone will be totally dedicated to one line of thought for x number of hours straight. Thanks for putting it so eloquently.

Really great post, Miranda. Your title is what lured me in. Now that I've read your post, it totally makes since and you give some great reasons as to why. Hourly charging is rather hard to scale up and it's tedious to keep track of. A per project model is much easier and you can easily increase your income by increasing your efficiency and the time in which you do the work.
