The past week in monetary policy was relatively quiet, with just five central banks announcing interest rate decisions. The only central bank to adjust rates was the Banco Central do Brasil, which increased its Selic rate by 25 basis points to 12.50%. The other banks that held rates unchanged were: Canada at 1.00%, South Africa at 5.50%, Turkey at 6.25%, and Egypt at 8.25%.
