By cheating customers, you're only cheating yourself. In this week's CEO blog, Anthony Karibian draws on his experience to explain how small businesses can beat their bigger competitors by exposing their dirty tactics.

Kasey Cassells: I have very clean underwear as a blogger listed as a former Pajamas Media contributor! ;)

I agree that Ryanair's web site and order process could be improved a lot, but I meant that the company has pointed out all the red tape in the aviation industry and they have revolutionized the price structure of airline travel.

Ryanair has been very transparent in listing every cost related to the travel. Personally, I wouldn't "hang out the dirty laundry" of my competitors. I don't "think about" them! ;)

Ryanair do seem to be transparent mostly, but have been fairly sneaky in the past. A colleague of mine noticed they bury the opt-out option for insurance in a drop-down list that seems to be a country selection. It's located next to Iceland! This is his experience and I'm not sure if Ryanair still do it, but it's not the first I've heard about their hidden prices. It may not be nice to think about dirty laundry but it's best to be sure yours are clean just in case they're exposed!
