The Holiday Inn Hotel chain is celebrating it's 60th Anniversary! I was able to find some cool trivia about hotels, and you won't believe what hotel rooms a few years ago didn't have.

Hi Joel,

I worked for one of the Holiday Inn Convention centers for several years, and I can tell you, the whole history of the franchise is fascinating. It really helped open up domestic road travel and paved the way for truck stops, diners, other restaurants, and other hotels and all the retail that cropped up around them. It's just a shame that the brand doesn't really reinforce the standards well. How does Holiday Inn go about making sure franchise owners maintain standards?
