Jonathan Ive, designer of the iPod and iPhone, has lost a claim for domain names carrying his name because his name is not a trade mark and because he shuns publicity. His name is not used enough in commerce to be protected, an arbitrator has ruled.

In this case, someone with a different name registered the domains, but I always thought it would be a slap in the face if, say, your name was Brad Pitt and your were told, "I'm sorry, but someone more famous than you won't let you register a domain with your name in it."
