Erik: Yes, it is a risk to be penalized by Google? Personally, I have been linking within my sites and blogs for many years, as the specific content is related to each other.

To be penalized by Google?

As long as you are relevant to what you link, you can just get benefits.

If you put yourself in the shoes of readers, they are happy to get in deep with the topic, reading more about it.

And internal linking means pointing to other articles within your site.
