After recently doing the Darkness Into Light Walk for Pieta House I got thinking about this silent disease with the umbrella label of depression that people struggle to talk about, the stigma that goes with it and how others don’t know how to deal with people who are suffering from it, especially in a workplace environment. How is depression dealt with at work, what are the legalities from a management point of view if you have an employee who is suffering and what is the best practice to follow to deal with the situation with empathy?

Awesome information. The biggest consideration is that many people who suffer from depression, may not know that they have a disorder. Not only that, often it seems that those who have other mental disorders, have never considered that depression is also a condition that may well worsen their difficult occurrences.
It would be nice to hear from some on BizSugar whether they have experienced depression in the past, are experiencing it now, or how they cope with depression as a small business owner. Could offer some in depth discussions here, you know?
Any hoo-- thank you for sharing!
My very best,
