Building up a new business isn’t easy, and parents don’t have any more room for failure than non-parents.

There is an ugly assumption that if a woman stays at home with her kids, she has more room to fail in her business.

Very insightful, almost like "since you are a woman who needs to work at home we'll give you the entry-level, low wage leftovers that you can pick the gristle off of and make a few bucks."

Good points, Thursday.

I always consider the source in these things, and whether it's presented as a stereo-type. I always try to look at people as individuals, and think some people (from differing points of reference) over-play the gender issue either because it's their niche, or because they have an ax to grind one way or the other. I cut some slack if it's their niche.
