This is a great collection of wacky laws for the 50 states. Some of these are unbelievable. Here are just a few of them:

Pennsylvania: It is illegal to have over 16 women live in a house together because that constitutes a brothel.

Florida: You are not allowed to break more than three dishes per day, or chip the edges of more than four cups and/or saucers.

Kansas: No one may catch fish with his bare hands.

New Hampshire: You may not tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern, restaurant, or café.

Vermont: Delivery men must walk backward in driveways of houses worth more than $500,000.

There are 3 laws listed for every state. Where do legislators find the time for such serious business? Remember that as you go to the polls next week....

Love this list, Anita. This is hardly a partisan issue. Small businesses in particular need to be worried about crazy legislation that needlessly puts roadblocks in the way of starting and operating a business. Governments prattle on and on about how small businesses are the engine of economic recovery then draw up regulations on everything imaginable to make things impossible for entrepreneurs. Instead of worrying about how to help small business and citizens in general, they should focus on how to get out of the way.
