Moments ago, the Miami Heat “SUPER TEAM” of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh made its regular season debut. The Heat/Celtics game just tipped off and suddenly I got to thinking – Is it better to go after high paid employees with a proven track records or build a team from scratch?

I don't follow basketball (never did) but I DO like your analogy. Keep in mind some places (like Cleeb'm - Cleveland to non-locals) is quite obviously cursed vis-a-vis sports franchises. They could have great players (which they normally trade as soon as they get good - so they won't win?), young players - it doesn't matter one teeny little bit. They'll stink up the arena/field no matter who the players are. After the losses pile up & they're way under .500, the media ask the coaches/managers about "building" - Each and Every Year! Building What?-(another losing team/season is the correct answer). I wouldn't want to be a business compared to Cleeb'm sports! Thanks for letting me vent!!
