Catarina: I imported products from Hong Kong and Taiwan during the 90's. My goal is to sell my future beverage product on a global scale when I have established an international brand.

I am involved in an online venture that will be able to sell products in 40+ countries. We will inform you about our journey in the near future! :)

Glad you agree with me Heather. Companies should target countries individually. How you do business in say, Saudi Arabia, is very different from the United States. So if you use the same approach there as you do in America you will fail.

If you sell services on social media you can have one approach, provided that you have developed a global brand.

Hi Catarina,

I think more than ever the potential exists for even very small businesses -- including microbusinesses and solopreneurs -- to take their brands global. This may not be for every business, of course, but it can certainly work for some. Do you agree with the argument that businesses focused on going global should still try to define the countries/cultures they want to target? Or is a broader approach preferable?
