First line management training
The role of the first line manager is not an easy one to fulfil.
First line managers must handle problems emanating from all directions:
1. Down from the higher managers, sending them paperwork problems, to be resolved.
2. Up from the team itself who don’t like what’s going on in the organisation.
3. Up from the customers who are unhappy about some failing of the service.
The first line managers need specialised and targeted training that will give them a framework that allows them to operate with more confidence and skill.
Specifically they need training to do the following:
1. To set clear targets
2. To communicate with more clarity
3. To properly manage the person who negatively affects the atmosphere
4. To manage the stress of change
5. To delegate work properly
