I see your point, but then at the same time I don't think it's necessary to "act" like the "big guy." Sometimes businesses and customers enjoy the "real little guy" as you put it. There's not so much red tape, and many smaller businesses can offer more personalized attention than many of the bigger players. It's good that you don't have many expenses. I think the key is to find a niche market and a way to separate yourself from the competition. If you are successful in doing this, people will want to buy from you.

While this is a good list for a conventional business, I must say none of them apply to me, the real little guy. I work from home, with no legal team, and outsource my work when I get really busy. I guess I don't have that many expenses, but I don't really have a lot of money to put back in the business. What I'd like to see is how I can "act" like a big guy, with little to no budget. ;)
