In order for organizations (or individuals) to be successful in the long run, they must be able to manage a myriad of dynamic tensions that exist. Focusing on the long-term and the short-term; focusing on their internal processes while, at the same time, keeping their finger on the pulse of the market; driving clarity of mission and purpose and ensuring that their team is engaged and prepared to deliver on the plan. We can go for a time in an out of balance state but as soon as the environment changes, if we are unable to manage those tensions, we run the risk of crashing and burning.
