I learned this concept from one of my favorite books, Tony Hsieh’s Delivering Happiness, where he talks about the simple concept of improving by 1% per day, which in the context of an individual person usually ends up resulting in one improvement per day. The exponential effect is that by the end of the year, you don’t end up improving 365%, but 3778%. While its tough to measure the exact output of incremental change over time, the difference is usually dramatic.
