I only wish there were Clear Standards. The small community hospital where I worked had several employee guideline manuals to sign-off on. One younger gal mistakenly thought that meant the hospital had to follow their own guidelines - like it was law. When we were gobbled up by the huge hospital nearby, the 2nd page of their manual flat-out said they didn't have to deal w/all employees equally - they could pick & choose when to enforce their guidelines. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
