Do you want to spend more time with your customers? And less time managing problems? Learning how to delegate effectively allows you to focus on increasing profits. You'll have time to do the things that make the difference between success and survival.

I wouldn't mind delegating / outsourcing some of my worklife and I look forward to the day when I am able to do that. As a solo entrepreneur, you have to wear many hats! ;)

I agree Niall, I like to encourage people to think about delegation as a controlled experiment. The importance of the work being delegated is one variable. The skill of the person assuming responsibility is another. By matching importance with skills & experience you manage risk. And free up time!

Hi Janine, I’ve become a reasonably proficient delegator over the year simply because I’ve had little choice. “Expect mistakes to happen”: this is a difficult one for many. I’d even go to as far as to say that you sometimes need to actively allow mistakes to happen. Mistakes can result in key learning outcomes for team members and as business owners we need to become more aware of that.
