Adam: I would like to talk more with you about this idea, as soon as I have launched my "last" site. It takes time ... LOL

Adam: Thanks for your thoughtful response! Citizen journalism is something to "chew" on! ;)

I have a Tumblr blog and auto post photos from one of my Instagram account there. I had an idea to create a micro site on Tumblr for a podcast and a tea project, but I don't know at the moment.

All the Best,

Martin

It is indeed!

Interesting idea about the Tumblr blog. I think it would be straightforward to at least repost the Instagram photos with little effort. I think IFTTT would allow you to connect Instagram and Tumblr, then repost photos automatically. Would be a nice way to get extra content onto a new platform. There might be some way of doing automatically reposting podcasts as well.

Best,

Adam

If I would tell a potential client that it could take more than three hours to write a blog post, what do you think he / she would say? ;) Fascinating to read the Tumblr is the biggest blog tool out there. Do you have Tumblr microblog?

All the Best,

Martin

I suppose it would go down better than telling them that some of us bloggers have spent over 2 weeks on a single article haha :)

It may help to liken it to journalism. We could write a quick 500 word article in less than 30 minutes but it would lack substance. Instead, we could spend hours (or longer) on it and create a piece of content with lasting impact - similar to how a journalist would *sometimes* conduct a lot of research, do interviews, etc. Just to get a story that boils down to 1000 words or a 2 minute video - but that story has lasting impact. The quick 500 word blog post without much substance quickly falls by the wayside.

There's a reason big brands invest a lot of money in single pieces of content - whether it be in-depth blog posts, infographics, or interactive content. A single piece of content can have a huge impact when it is supported by the right marketing.

The time, effort, and resources you put into any piece of content determine the lasting impact it will have on your business.

Tumblr! Yes, I think I have an account there but it is a long time since I've used it.
