You’ve got a blog and you’ve heard about how important growing your email list is.

You’ve seen others grow their subscribers to a huge number and you want to do the same.

The ugly truth is that it takes time and most people give up before they get close or get chance to figure out what does work. Don’t be that person.

I was almost that person but I held out a little longer and found what tactics worked.

In this post I’m going to show you why email is so important. I’ll give you specific steps to grow your email list; these are actionable and will take your email list to the next level.

Adam: After I wrote the comment, I said to myself: It is time to start a newsletter!

Please feel free to subscribe to EGO Newsletter (powered by TinyLetter and owned by MailChimp):

"A hot & spicy newsletter by a chile-head. You will receive food for thought on new media and good things in life."

I have put a subscription form on my website again. Please check the upper right hand column. www.egosoletrader.com

My bulletin will be "almost timely" (paraphrasing Christopher S. Penn's newsletter), once a month or so, with three things: business philosophy, social media and the good life.

Adam: I haven't really started my email list yet, but I will definitively implement your tweaks, when it is time for me to start it. I have been struggling on the perfect timing, regular content for a newsletter, and which email list service I shall use... ;)

The perfect time to start is now. Even if you haven't got regular content for a newsletter, it doesn't matter too much. The main thing is that you pick an email provider and get started.

The #1 mistake I made was thinking I needed to wait.

I'm fond of GetResponse and MailChimp. MailChimp has a free account that will do what you need till you want to upgrade to a paid account in the future.
