Brand loyalty is something that has been much debated, discussed and hankered after by marketers and business owners across the globe. Every business big or small seeks to create, sustain and build brand loyalty but I’m going to take a slightly different stance today

Thanks Duncan...for the appreciation, motivation and your views! Thought I should let people know why brand loyalty is becoming scarce...much a do about it in the first place and less focus on what you rightly say...failure in trying not to give anyone a reason Not to go back.

Very intelligent - and different - ideas, Mariam.

I agree. Judging by the multitude of articles that suggest it's possible for a brand to gain anything like the kind of loyalty people give their family & friends, I'd say it's about time, too.

I loved the part about consumers maybe just wanting to be adventurous & try something new - just for the heck of it.

I also think brand loyalty need not be anywhere near 100% at any given time - it's easily possible to be loyal to several competing brands in one niche if they all offer good products with different points of differentiation. I may buy from brand A this time intending to go back to them, but buy from brand B next, then C, then B, then back to A - but I plan on going back.

I think the real problem for brands is to Try not to give anyone a reason Not to go back - like you said, there's way too much competition.
