Remember the "Hook" when marketing your small business

When you think of a hook, it is to grab the client's attention long enough for the sales process to begin between the buyer and seller.
Even when you have the most wanted product around, if you do not inform customers where to buy it (the hook in this example), you will see very little quantity sold.

It's a good tip. Rarely do small businesses get the product/service right AND the marketing/hooking/selling at the same time.

Usually one is far weaker than the other, and the survival rates of businesses who don't get both above the tipping point to success is therefore far lower.

Good debut blog post though. Shame there's not been more since.

This article is on the right track, but it needs examples. I'm pretty sure newbie salespeople won't quite get what makes for a good hook without solid examples.
