I think there comes a time in our careers as business owners/entrepreneurs/self employed folks that we have to ask ourselves – “what do I really want out of this?”
Do I simply want to go to a job every day? Or do I want to be a REAL business owner/ entrepreneur?

Thank you for your comments.. I didn't mean to offend anyone or make light of a deplorable part of history. My point was that many of us allow our businesses to run our lives and we become shackled to them day in and day out; doing all, or most of the work we could (and should be)hiring others to do rather than being the strategic leaders and drivers an entrepreneur (in the truest sense of the word) should be.

In my opinion we can't be both a worker bee - working IN our business, and an entrepreneur working ON our business.

First, I agree with Shepherd, and will add that it seems like a majority of small business entrepreneurs I read on BizSugar seem to love the challenge - their work is the realization of their passion. I can't speak for anyone, but I sense that many of them would get bored very quickly doing nothing but golfing or sipping champagne on an island all day. (Some Wouldn't mind.)

Slavery was a deplorable part of history. I'm not sure I like the comparison.
