I was lucky to get the lesson from a nice guy. As someone commented on the blog it also depends on how the message or critique is delivered.

Excellent insight, wisdom and advice! The ego is truly our biigest enemy when it comes to business!
It can lead us astray and refuse to allow us to admit we are wrong. Your experience with your boss put things into excellent perspective. My life boss, Rivkah, usually has a different opinion than me. I usually do things my way and later find out she was right after all!
One day I will learn!

I am sure Rivkah has a smile on her face when you go about doing things your way. I also do think we certainly need what I call a healthy ego otherwise we would not be able to travel the small business path.
