Depends on the plugin and whether it runs on your site or connects to an external server. Also depends on the available resources on your server. I haven't done performance testing around this area.

Best to have a look at the pricing table on their website. They do have a free plan though. That's the main reason we went with this for the tutorial. It's a nice option to test out without any financial commitments. In terms of paid plans, there are some WordPress plugins that are more affordable though - WPML for example.
