Great tips! True, its easy to make business card, but its not to create excellent business card which will help to promote your business.

I would add uniqueness. As long as the size is standard, so that people can fit the card in the same place where they keep their other cards, color, design and message should stand out. This is especially true if most people will have several competitor cards (such as several printing suppliers, as I used to have).

I'd agree uniqueness (or distinctness?) should definitely be one of the top characteristics, Amabaie. But then the card shown in the photo on this page certainly fits into that category.
