Interesting post. I think one of the main factors in why the Nature Conservancy was offered no real censure is because there would not really be any harm in connecting environmentalism with a bathing suit issue. What could feminists really become upset with? That drooling men would now become environmentally conscious? Or could you see outraged environmentalists thinking that a woman who if not pretty is at least fit "looking" is equated with preserving the environment? Especially when most environmentalists care more about the environment and less about people's appearances. It's a classic case of over think.
