Content marketing is the best way you can drive traffic to your blog if the posts itself is interesting and people love it. Its all about knowing what your audience want anyway. Thanks for sharing this with the bizsugar community.

Hi Reginald,

All these points are true. But one big questions is, how do you choose the right content for your audience? Certainly this is covered under your first point on strategy, but how do you know you've come to the right conclusion about the kind of content you need? More important, how do you gauge from initial audience reaction -- since building an audience takes time -- that the content you've decided to focus on isn't working and bringing in the traffic you need?

Hi Heather,

Firstly, how have you been? Hope you are in great health!

To answer your questions, I personally do it:

1. Search soul deep on the topic that I want to write about. That's way too important not to do. For me, I don't believe I can create good content if I have absolutely no idea about it. So, get your topic first and foremost.

2. Type of content would varies on the main goal. For starters, would you like to create a website based on tutorials or mere a place for your daily rant? Again, know the type of website you want to build is important (same goes to article).

3. For gauging readership and reaction for starters is tough especially when you have limited traffic. The best method would be depending highly on the number of comments and social shares. Have a fair number of them and you know that you are on the right track. As time move on, you can get those free analytics tools or paid one like Moz (prefer Moz). Analyzing is really tough for starters. I usually only make a check after 3 months on slow website building.

4. Lastly, let's say you are dead wrong and went through the wrong path. Well, I usually get over it and start 'repairing' the articles. Of course, you can easily just leave them as what they are (not advisable) and focus more on future content according to the right path.

Make sense? :) I usually speak in my own mind so...!

Have a great evening dear friend.
