Hi Virtuosi,

Very informative article, and I agree about email addresses. I can't count how many times I've wanted to ask a question and been unable to find a way.

It takes the edge off if my interest was piqued by what I saw. Plus, if I was to order something, I'd want to email as to whether the item was in stock, when & how they ship, etc. I want to know this before I'll order, or I won't order.

So I actually saw the reply button this time around. ;) I totally agree, Duncan. It's amazing how little details can be the difference between a sale or the visitor hitting the back button. The email issue is a personal one, too, I think. It shows that you're willing to be accessible rather than just about the bottom line. That little touch can make a big difference.

Thanks for the comment, Yoni. It's true, so many blog posts and articles don't have a call to action at the end. If you're a business and don't do that, you're definitely missing out.

Virtuosi,

Very nice job. It's also possible to extrapolate these 7 points and to say that they are the same mistakes which can harm a blog. I have the same type of bio at the end of my blog as you...kind of a sales-pitch and a "get to know me" sort of thing. So many blogs lack this and the contact info...I finish reading a great blog and think to myself "so what do you want from me now?"

As you state, "you will lose visitors, clients and money!"

Blogs and websites alike are a great way to "sell' yourself; I'm still amazed at how many people miss the boat.

Yoni
