“Nofollow” is how a site owner can tell the search spiders to literally not follow a specific link through to the next page it links to. Some site owners use nofollow links as a way to discourage spammers from building up inbound links from their site because a nofollow links doesn’t pass any link juice or search engine value onto the linked-to site.
