On Monday, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approved corporate web address suffixes. Going forward, companies can replace the standard ‘.com’, ‘.net’, and ‘.org’ suffixes with a corporate web address suffix. The length of the new suffix can be up to 63 characters long.

I'm guessing it will indeed be a highly effective way to root out the domain name squatters - charging $185,000 just to apply! A little "reverse-spin" on the speculators.
