Having surveyed over 8,500 consumers on questions related to online coupon use, Deals.com together with MyType have released a very interesting study profiling the demographics and psycho-graphics of both coupon "lovers" and coupon "avoiders." One of the more surprising findings was that six-figure earners are actually twice as likely to actively seek and use online coupons than consumers with a lower income.

Prussakov,

The second I saw the article I knew there would be the "psycho-social" reasons why certain people don't use coupons. There has always been a negative connotation associated with coupons. Some people are too proud to use them I guess.

Interesting Statistics. Maybe the low income people don't use coupons because they aren't for the bare necessities they can actually afford?

I'm curious how they arrived at their statistics for who was insecure, too - was that on a questionnaire they filled out themselves, or were they diagnosed by someone qualified to do so?

I think they've used MyType's "personality type" quiz results for that.
