Thanks to bizSugar Twitter follower Cathleen Thomas @famlegacy for this one: How to buy your business some Facebook friends. I think this is kind of an interesting story because while the Australian company is being criticized for gathering friends for its Facebook clients presumably using the name of the company on the Website, no one would suggest that companies shouldn't do precisely the same thing with an internally managed social media site. The differentiation here seems to be in whether an employee does this or whether it is a service provided by an outside marketing firm. I do find the company's earlier service of selling votes on Digg more disturbing.
