Reading this data can give smaller marketers a complex because they can have it in their heads that if these guys are getting those results, I should be too. If I’m not, well, I’m obviously screwing things up. Not even close to true. Here are some other untruths that we need to get away from

This is a very interesting topic to me. I too am a stats junkie and I love looking at and analyzing my marketing activities so I know where I stand on a month to month basis.
I can't say that I'm familiar with FB advertising. The few times that I tried it didn't go as well as I'd hope it would.
You've given some good pointers here though that I realize are important. Like not only targeting the US. It's important that you pay attention to your readers from other countries as well.
Based on my blog stats, I have quite a few readers from the UK and India which is pretty neat. As I move forward with my content calendar and promotional efforts, I try to keep in mind my readers in other countries and ways that I might be able to expand my reach there too.
Again, you've provided some great information in this post and I'm glad you've taken the time to write it up and share it with us over on BizSugar.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing more of your content there soon. :)

It's interesting that you mention the UK and India; on some of my blogs, I'm seeing a lot of Aussies and French which blows my mind.
Stats are great but when you put them in perspective, you can't really compete. You just have to run your own race. I hope to post a couple more posts hear before year end so yes, I think you shall see me here again in December.
Cheers and thanks for your comment.
