Times have changed in marketing. Chances are if you hold a marketing degree from 2009 and prior to that, you learned all about outbound marketing. I can confidently say that because I hold a marketing degree from May 0f 2009. Once I graduated and started working at The Discovery Communications Group, I realized that most of the stuff I had recently learned was not exactly going to be put to use in my future marketing career. In college I learned about television ads, print ads, direct mail, and cold calling. I never learned about blogging, webinars, Facebook, Twitter, RSS feeds, etc. In fact, if someone told me in college that Facebook and Twitter were going to be a main part of my daily tasks at work, I wouldn’t have believed them!
