One of the best ways to motivate your prospect to buy in a sales letter is to keep getting them to say "YES" to themselves.
And this is best done by asking questions (or making statements) you know they'll say "yes" to. Cuz if you've done your homework on your ideal target market, you should know enough about them to push their buttons.
Keep getting 'em to nod their heads
