If you do a search for anything, really- anything, it’s likely that within the first few results is the corresponding Wikipedia page. This means that Wikipedia is obviously a very trusted site that has high authority in the eyes of the search engines. Isn’t the whole point of link building to attain links from high authority sites like this? Getting a link from a site like Wikipedia conveys that your site is viewed as an authority site by association. Since Wikipedia is a user edited site, it should be easy to get a page for your business and generate links, right? Unfortunately that’s not how it works.
