Many Canadian businesses are faced with a conundrum: do they set up their website on a .ca domain or on a .com domain. There are pros and cons for each, and some of those are related to SEO, to the rankings that the website can achieve in the search engines.

David, (amabaie) Great article which has implications for all "foreign" businesses! I also had this conundrum with the "IL" with which I could appeal mostly as an Israeli business or go with the ".com". I'm American by birth and most of my clients are American and international so I decided to go with the broader ".com". Anyway, great article!

Thanks @Yoni67. Indeed, much of this applies to any non-US country. However, there are some subtle by significant differences in various countries, for instance in Europe and Latin America, and I plan a blog post in the near future that addresses some of those, too.
