Hi Geri,

So nice to meet you and thanks for the interesting post on marketing strategy. We really appreciate you sharing it with the BizSugar community. For those less knowledgeable about this particular approach to marketing, I wonder if you could give us a brief explanation of what a solo ad is and how it's used. It would be great if you could share that explanation in the comment section of the BizSugar community so that all of our members can get the benefit.

Hi Heather,

Nice to meet you, too! :)

I'd be happy to explain solo ads. An email is sent out on behalf of your offer by a reputable marketer with a large list of subscribers.

You have to pay a certain amount of money for clicks.

The marketer you are buying the solo from, sets his price in accordance to the number of clicks you will receive on your offer.

Say his offer is $100.00 for 50 clicks. You are guaranteed 50 clicks. Sometimes you can get more than 50, if he over-delivers.

However, you are not guaranteed sales. In the last solo ad I bought, I got 57 subscribers.

It is a quick way to build your list. There are no guarantees that the subscribers will stay on your list, but,so far, I have had very few un-subscribe. :).

The crucial part of this is finding a good solo ad seller and writing a killer email so that his subscribers will click on your ad.

I hope this explanation helps everyone understand what a solo ad is all about.

If there are any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Geri Richmond
