Remember Google+?

Launched less than two years ago, it was supposed to be Google’s answer to Facebook; a way to unseat the social media giant (and supplant it with an even bigger behemoth, naturally). According to reports from Google and others, the number of users has grown exponentially, recently going over 170 million. When you consider that Twitter, another social media giant that has received far more press, only has 140 million users, that number is amazing.

Hi Juliana,

And thanks for sharing your post with the BizSugar community. It seems like opinions are all over the map in terms of whether Google+ provides any kind of valuable interaction for its users. I would have to say the jury's still out, but I can attest that I have seen some evidence that the network is a definite traffic driver for those sharing content. This may be because Google+'s community is actually more concentrated and more engaged in the actual content being shared. Also, given questions raised recently about the validity of many "likes" on Facebook, there's some doubt whether this kind of activity is even what Google+ should be shooting for.
