Great flower pics, Susan!

10 years ago I spent c$2500 on a manual Mamiya 6x4.5cm rollfilm camera (bigger negative than 35mm for better resolution) w/2 fixed lenses - normal & wide angle (for landscapes), a big tripod, and several 3" diameter (= expensive) filters. The negatives were great (I know, the pros used slides then, but I want a print I can hold in my hands), but the photo-finishers - including photo-only venues - never bothered to focus the enlarger. The resolution of the prints was equivalent to drugstore 35mm point-and-shoot. It almost ruined photography for me.

4 years ago I spent $240 on a Kodak point-and-shoot digital camera with image stabilization, and consistently get very crisp prints. Go figure!

I didn't spend quite that much on an SLR camera years ago and never learned to use it as you did. Bottom line for me, it was too heavy to carry around. I spent about double what you did for my point and shoot as I wanted as many features as possible without the weight and changeable lenses. You can see I get pretty good pictures! I'm so glad you liked them. Thank you.
