To be fair, Matt McGee of Small Business Search Marketing included the word "probably" in parentheses in the title for his post. I left it out and put a question mark at the end of the title because I'd really like to hear what bizSugar members think of this one. To begin with, I'll admit I think Matt's judgments here are too broad, but I also suspect he wanted them to be to make the article a conversation piece. I'm pretty sure I disagree with points one and two because they are just too general. Sure there are some businesses that shouldn't use AdSense and I'm guessing most small businesses know better than to put sensitive materials on a third party app. (Would you post sensitive client information on your Facebook profile???!!!) Impressions?

Martin,

I too started my explorations of the blogosphere on the Blogger platform. (What's more, I know of some professional news and information companies that have used Blogger's open coding option and completely branded the publishing tool for their use, sometimes with surprising results.) More to the point, it is a good learning opportunity for someone starting out and telling someone not to dabble with it is like scolding someone for experimenting in photography with a cheap instant camera instead of going straight to the complex gadgetry of a manual single lens reflex.

Shawn: I don't agree with Matt McGee's statement regarding the Blogger platform: "You don’t want your business blog being associated with that domain." I started blogging in May 2002 and back then you couldn't find many different platforms. I have registered a new domain for my business services, using the WordPress platform.
