After I had read Ivan Widjaya's post, Buying a Website? How to Stay Away from Shady Marketplace Listings, I registered an account on Flippa. I searched the site and found this domain: Americanized.org. How much do you think the domain could be worth in the future? How much would you pay for it today? At the moment, it is appraised for USD $210 according to Valuate.com.

Thanks for the mention in your article - I'm not an expert in domain valuation, but just like any other sites in general, the value is determined by how much the market think it is.
You might need to use professional valuation service as automatic valuation tool is not accurate.
IMO, since it's .org, it should be valued below the .com - and as mentioned by the seller, it's PERCEIVED to be in between $4888 and $1288.
I type PERCEIVED in uppercase, as the dot-com and dot-net are listed on Godaddy auction with those as asking price. How much will the domains be sold? That's what the market will dictate.
I personally wouldn't want to buy it more than $500. I value more on the website is doing financially :)

I'm with Ivan here. I think the value could be in what you can do with the site. The biggest challenge will likely be creating content that dominates what I'm thinking may be a very competitive search market shared with many other sites including (perhaps?) government agencies and non-profits. It would probably be a good idea to focus on a narrow niche that makes sense given the domain and look at what would be involved in generating revenue.
