Pinterest has been the creative’s platform of choice for some time now. Bloggers who share great how-to articles coupled with amazing visual content, have done particularly well.

But there’s been rumblings recently of traffic from the visual platform, taking a nose-dive. Bloggers are reporting that their referrals from Pinterest are falling and that things generally seem amiss.

There’s even been whisperings of Pinterest going the same way that Facebook has!

To be honest I don’t really agree with this. Today I’m going to share why I think this and more importantly, dig into what’s changed. Then we’re going to look at what you can do to pull your stats out of the dumps and get your boards bustling with life again.

hi stacy, i've been using pinterest alot lately and trying to figure the in and outs of it. I agree with you on hashtags, i dont think they are even used for the site. Also i havent noticed much benefit from commenting. Just mostly re-pinning and building up boards around my subject of interest.

I would recommend building up alot of followers before spending alot of time writing content. If you don't have many followers, you won't get too much traction, at least in my experience. Good artile :)

Stacey: Thanks for your reply. It will be interesting to follow the development of Pinterest.

Do you know how Pinterest is making money at the moment?

I'm pretty sure it's a combination of promoted pins and investments. Must do a bit more digging to find out a bit more as I hadn't really considered this.

Is the smart feed inspired by Facebook formula on how see things in your stream?

I don't know for sure, however I would hazard guess and say that it's a way for people to see more of what they're interested in, in their home feed.
