For many business owners who haphazardly throw things out on Twitter or Facebook – you’re missing the point.

And you’re missing a ridiculous amount of money.

Why not ensure that your social media is actually working for you?

Uttoran: I haven't come around to work with Buffer yet. I am using Hootsuite.

The tools shared here will help to monitor marketers’ activities on social media. While this is good, it brings into sharp focus the productivity rate of businesses who are using the social platform to drive traffic. On the one hand there is engagement which has to take place before measurement can be done, so how are the post to be executed, automation as well? It is always better to post manually, certainly on Facebook. On the other hand someone has to monitor the analytics in order to properly respond. For the start-ups and other businesses being run by one person, how effective would this really be?

Hi vinton,

thanks for your comment,

Automation is generally done for posting, that is scheduling regular updates - as micro blogging on the social media does require freequent updates. But when it comes to monitoring engagement - that needs to be done manually. The tools are mostly for getting notifications - something that none of the social sites does properly on their own.

Here's what I personally do, I use some of these tools to schedule and monitor activity. Say, a tool updates me of activity on Google+ - I quickly respond to it. It is effective to keep an eye on the engagement and be more active where the need is.

It is very effective for startups and single owners, I don't have a bunch of people monitoring social media for my company, I mostly do it myself - and these tools helps a lot. They keep me updated about the activity and I can quickly find out where I need to respond and push the engagement further. If I had to do it manually, I have to post on every social site myself - about 3 to 5 times a day - then check them all, one by one - and see if there are any notifications. That will be insane!

thanks,

Uttoran Sen,

I am experimenting with commun.it. It appears to have some unique features that would enhance the engagements.

Hey lyceum,

thanks for your comment,

Yes, there's so many social media tools - however am pretty sure the right one will do the work, but we still have to use many before we settle down with our own favorite tool,

thanks,

Uttoran Sen,
