This is what my father has been telling me all the time. For this case, focusing on like maybe indirectly linked to more conversion. However, if you're focused on how it will be achieved..then you'll be hooked up to using only one way for that goal to be achieved.
I found the article seemingly in agreement with my father's statement who had 3-4 decades of marketing experience.
