Great post. I don't use this because for me it is useless. Whenever I want to share something with my facebook fans, I paste the url directly. Thanks for sharing.

From our experience that is the best way to do it! Thanks for the comment.

Trevor Kohlhepp: I think you are right that you have to adept your message and style to the different channels. I admit that I use auto posting in different ways, e.g., my Instagram photos automatically is going to Facebook. I used to link my Twitter messages to Facebook and LinkedIn, but it stopped after Twitter changed the API. And that was probably a good thing... ;)

The most important thing when it comes to auto posting from any network to another is that you're aware of how it looks and preforms on each network. If you are aware of this, you can make the auto post feature work for you. Unfortunately, in most cases businesses don't understand this, they just use it as a short cut and then wonder why they don't get any results.

Thanks for the comment!

Interesting piece. I'm currently doing this on my Fanpage because I rarely ever use it. I thought it would be a good way to kill 2 birds with one stone. I'm a huge Twitter fan and I prefer it over FB, however; I think I'll be disabling this cross posting feature soon. I just don't see any point of it any longer, especially since Twitter is where I'm at most of time and I don't really get any interaction on my FB page (not that I'm trying that hard to).

Thanks for sharing your insights with us on this topic.

Glad that the article was able to help you see why you might not want to use the feature. We've always told our Clients that they can get results from just about network, the key is spending their time and energy on the network. In your example, this is Twitter. Thanks for the comment! ~ Trevor
