Social Media Pundits (Mostly) Suck at Engagement

From Daniel Newman's post on Social Media Today:

Social media is an industry that isn’t afraid to throw around buzz words. Like a restaurant’s “Soup du jour” a new hot word comes spilling down the road each day (more or less) and the industry thought leaders and pundits take to the interwebs to promote the crap out of it – as if its news.

The crème de la crème of social almost don’t engage at all. As a small circle they talk among themselves and treat their fans as something they are entitled to. Most of those sharing their stuff are either too sheepish or naïve to realize they aren’t saying anything all that unique.

Bloggerpalooza: Could (dare?) you mention some social media pundits that I have been in this situation? Personally, I know my "why", so I don't have any problem to engage in a natural way... :)

Being unique in social media can sometimes turn you bad. People wont literally understand you and it will make you look and idiot rather than someone who is respectable.
