Any good Internet marketing expert understands the importance of business blogging and social media marketing. Unfortunately, some business and website owners see them as one and the same. A blog is a place to share content and promote dialogue with current and potential clients and customers. I agree! I think that having a blog is still critical in terms of publishing and promoting great content online. Social media is fabulous, but you don't own your Facebook page or your Twitter account, and honestly they can be snatched from you at anytime if the site owners decide you're doing something they don't like. With your own blog, you have an online hub that you own and can coordinate all of your social media sites around.

Hi Nick, This is interesting as I recently had someone tell me that you could effectively do social without a website or blog. I personally this is not the case and have yet to see the evidence. I agree, social shouldn't replace your blog but it can help to amplify your content. Merry Xmas & thanks for contributing to BizSugar - Niall
