Instagram was designed as a photo sharing site. Users are encouraged to share photos (and now videos as well) to their feeds. But, when it comes to marketing, sometimes we need more than just photos. So, here are some ways to think outside the box and use posts other than traditional photos.

I haven't really tried uploading motivational quotes to my instagram account. But what you said about quotes not getting more likes in instagram. It could probably be true. As instagram is more like a form of expression of yourself and the generic photo quotes are probably a turn off for many users whose uploads a more likely narcissistic photos of themselves, food they ate and a whole lot of other stuff. LOL! I'm not saying people in instagram are narcissists but after lurking, I've found selfies quite a trend!

Haha! It's sad but true, selfies rule. I really wish they didn't!! And I try to avoid sharing many on my profile.

Yeah, I think that a lot of motivational quotes (or even fabricated images) get less interaction because people are looking for photos. They want to see certain things and shy away from obviously created and uploaded images. However, they can still be beneficial for marketing.
