Twitter was currently attacked when a bug at Tweetdeck caused multiple accounts to tweet the same message. This has posed a serious security issue in the social medium.

Wow. I am not sure if they are making it more public, I think technology is advancing and with the brilliant but devious minds that can be found in the world they are using it to hack into companies. I think because of the advanced technology it is easier to hack now then say ten years ago. Sad but a fact. Just got to be careful.

Ebele: I don't know if Hootsuite got hacked? I have to do a search... My guess is that Hootsuite got a warning flag for the Heartbleed bug.

Is it Hootsuite safer to use than Tweetdeck?

Lyceum: Wasn't Hootsuite hacked into a while ago? Or was it on the list of one of the various sites that were considered vulnerable re: the Heartbleed bug?

This seems to be happening more and more often with popular sites. Or is it just the case that big companies that are attacked are making it public more often?
